|Personal History||Daughter to a politician father and cutting edge scientist mother Carrie-Ann's young life had been shaped and controlled by her strong parents, until at aged seven her learning surged forward at an unusual rate and continued to do so for another decade.
Facing threatened charges for genetically altering their child the Addison's braved every claim willing to allow inspections into their history and their younger daughter. Carrie's elder brother by three years, James remained, and still does to this day envious of his sisters wondrous intellect thus dissolving their relationship entirely.
By puberty Carrie had become well educated, and had decided her boundless future resided in the stars that only Starfleet could provide and the unique chance to change and heal the injured lives of those in need. Surprised by her 'woolly' choice of desired career path both Mother and Farther attempted to discourage Carrie's motivation to become a psychiatrist claiming the subject to be a waste of her obvious talent.
Naturally their attempts failed, and the daughter excelled into Starfleet Academy taking a strong interest into the reports from both Doctor Julian Bashir and Ezri Dax surrounding the years of the Dominion War and the untapped potential of a piece of technology the CMO had used to obtain a cure for the shape shifter Odo.
Intrigued by the 'adventure' into the unconscious mind of another individual Carrie began to investigate the possibility of using such techniques in extreme cases for counsellors once all other events had been exhausted, or had simply failed. In theory she'd be able to identify and remove the barrier preventing a complete return to health safely and in a far less traumatic nature.
Now, fresh from the Academy facing her first assignment to Cerberus station to continue the research into making this idea a reality Carrie has to put her education and brilliant mind into practice with some very real patients.
